Long-term projects. Ugh! This is something that doesn’t get done in one hour, or one day. It’s a comittment of MONTHS. If you’ve got one of these bad boys looming in front of you, brace yourself.
We all have projects that simply must get done. I am going to venture to say that none of us are kidding ourselves, we know the journey ahead of us is a long one.
My list is long with no end in site, a plan would be nice
The ominous task before me is getting my job under control. My “big picture” spiders out to many smaller tasks. I must define a “statement of operations,” leave some breadcrumb trails and well-defined manuals, embellish documents with more complete details for the next poor soul who trudges into my job role.
Every day details flutter into my head that only I know. I’ve got to get that down on paper. There is also the physical piles of equipment in my office I need to dispose of, one way or another. With all of this snow-balling at once, I was determined to create a system that would see me through, sustaining me to the end.
Productivity planners my way!
I have to say, it’s been eye-opening. I started poking around, checking out productivity planners, printing some of them off and giving them a try. Wow! I did not respond to them. I let my brain do what it does best and unleashed it. Before I knew it, I had rough templates that I started testing.
I was shocked that my procrastination plummeted. I was getting things done and feeling refreshed at the end of the day – not defeated!! I am currently working on refining these tools to share with other like-minds. Stay tuned!
